The air quality in the national capital worsened on the third consecutive day when the Air Quality Index was recorded at 258.

The quality of air in the national Capital has deteriorated once again with pollution level going up after witnessing a few days of ‘good’ air quality.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 159, over four times more than last Tuesday, according to the Centre's System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research Institute (SAFAR).

An official of the Central Pollution Control Board said rains in the last few days washed away pollutants from the air which led to the quality of air improving.
