Three agreements between Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Dada Dhuniwale Khandwa power project an undertaking of Madhya Pradesh power generating company and Madhya Pradesh power generating company limited were signed for purchasing 4620 megawatt electricity at electricity board headquarter, Jabalpur today.

State-run power equipment-maker BHEL on Thursday said it has bagged contracts worth `78 crore from Indiabulls for setting up three solar power projects.

The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd will enter into joint venture agreements with both Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) and NTPC Ltd for setting up power plants at Katwa in Burdwan and Santhaldighi in Purulia by the end of this year.

Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Rajendra Shukla inspected the 1200 MW Singaji Thermal Power Project under construction in Khandwa district today. After the inspection the minister convened a meeting of the concerned officers and representatives of the construction agencies.

Rajendra Shukla said that power production is the topmost priority of the state government.

PUBLIC sector power equipment giant Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel) has secured a 2,665-crore order from Visa Power (VPL), an independent power producer, for setting up of a 1,200 mw (2x600 mw) thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh.

New Delhi: Facing problems with Chinese power equipment, state-owned Durgapur Projects is believed to have approached BHEL for carrying out repair and recommission the 300-mw thermal power plant in West Bengal.

Chinese firm Dong Fang had supplied turbine to DPL, which has become inoperable due to some technical snag since last three months, sources in the know said.
