Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sunil Kumar Vs Delhi Pollution Control Committee & Others dated 26/03/2019 regarding operation of garbage godowns in Ward No. 60E Soniya Vihar, Shahdra, Delhi, without consent to operate causing noise and air pollution beyond the prescribed norms, affecting health of the inhabitants. According to the applicant, there are 400 garbage godowns where garbage is continuously burnt and high decibel noise pollution is created. In the said godowns, there is breakage of iron and steel garbage, releasing dangerous oxides.

NGT directs the industry to maintain its ETP properly and ensure that it does not discharge the effluent in excess of the prescribed parameters and enter into an agreement with the CETP or even directly with Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd. for collection, storage and disposal of hazardous waste.
