DINDIGUL: A special watershed development project will be implemented by the Gandhigram Trust at Thottanuthu village an estimated cost of Rs.62.56 lakh with community participation. The trust will act as facilitator and only villagers will implement the entire project, in three years.
DINDIGUL: Kudaganar and Sandhanavarthini rivers would be linked under the river-linking project to benefit drought-affected areas such as Vedasandur and improve agriculture activities in such areas, said I. Periasamy, Revenue Minister.
THREE persons from Athupatti village in Vedasandur block of Dindigul died of diarrhoea on Wednesday.

Virudhunagar worst hit; funds for other districts after getting report
CHENNAI: The government on Thursday sanctioned Rs. 18 crore from the Calamity Relief Fund to overcome the drinking water shortage in 10 districts. Virudhunagar, Tiruvallur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Villupuram, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Dindigul and Namakkal districts will be benefited.
After completion, the project will be extended to all 14 blocks of the district}
