The matter related to illegal sand mining in village Pachayarha Khand, district Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh by one Mumtaz Ali up to the depth of 15-20 feet in the river bed of river Yamuna in violation of environmental norms.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vipin Tyagi & Others Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 17/10/2022. Grievance in the application is against damage to the ponds in village Morta, ward no. 20, Ghaziabad. It was stated that garbage is being dumped into the ponds on account of which there is foul smell in the area.

Joint committees have been constituted to find out hotels, marriage/banquet halls, resorts, guest houses in Lucknow, Agra, Meerut, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bareilly, Varanasi, Jhansi and Gorakhpur abstracting groundwater without NOC from the competent authority.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Arti Vs Central Ground Water Authority & Others dated 25/02/2022.

The matter related to the condition of ground water in district Ghaziabad with all the four blocks in the district coming under over-stressed category. Ground water is depleting very rapidly particularly, on account of illegal and unauthorized abstraction by various hotels, marriage halls, party lawns etc. located in district Ghaziabad.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ajay Garg Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 04/02/2022. It is said that illegal brick kilns are operating within 8 km from Raj Nagar Extension on the pipeline road going from Teela Mod to Murad Nagar. Even mining is also going on in the said area causing environmental damage and health hazards to the nearby residents of the area.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Saleem & Others Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 04/02/2022. It is said that water and air pollution is caused by a unit (Om Heat Treatment Centre) running in a residential area in Hindon Vihar, Meerut Road, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The plant has not even installed a sewage treatment plant and effluent treatment plant, as a result, the wastewater is directly being discharged into canals and causing water pollution.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Saviour Park Apartment Owners Association Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 04/02/2022.

Grievance in the application is against violation of environmental norms in setting up of a construction project – Saviour Park, Plot No. 108, Katori Mill, Loni Road, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, by Savfab Buildtech Pvt. Ltd., without valid Environmental Clearance (EC) and without requisite safeguards. It is further stated that EC conditions and environmental norms are being violated.

Grievance in the application is against non-compliance of order of the Tribunal, August 3, 2018 on the subject of preventing discharge of untreated sewer water from Prahlad Garhi village into storm water drain of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam and also preventing dumping of municipal solid waste and other waste into said storm water drain in Sector 16, 17, 18 and 19 at Vasundra, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
