The mine owners of Khori Jamalpur and Sirohi have gone to the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking an extension of the mining lease that expired on February 5 after seven years. Extensive mining in this period has left this stretch of the Aravalis in Faridabad district virtually beyond repair.

Chandigarh: All the persons registered under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Haryana will now be insured under micro insurance scheme. An official spokesman said that Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has been roped in for the implementation of this scheme.
