The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), has issued the E-Waste (Management) Amendment Rules, 2023. These Amendment Rules were issued on 30th January, 2023. These Amendment Rules seek to amend the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) on December 23, 2022, issued the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Second Amendment Rules, 2022 to further amend the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.

There is a huge gap in the generation of bio medical waste and capacity to treat it.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Varun Sheokand Vs Central Pollution Control Board & Others dated 07/11/2022.

The National Green Tribunal, November 7, 2022 directed that the report of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on electronic waste be followed by all the state pollution control boards and pollution control committees.

The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) in its report to the NGT, November 2, 2022 said that there are no non-recyclable multi-layered plastic sachets or pouches or packaging producers existing in Andhra Pradesh. If any producer is found operating without registration from APPCB, appropriate action will be taken against the units as per the provisions of Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016.

The Ministry of Environment, forest and climate change on 2nd November 2022, has published the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 which shall come into force from the 1st day of April, 2023.
