Action taken report in compliance to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order, February 18, 2022 (I.A. No. 29/2022) in the matter of Prabhar Rai & Others Vs Union of India & Others.

The matter related to the proposed setting up of a common bio-medical waste facility (CBWTF) in village Paharpur, post Gotha Rasoolpur, tehsil and district Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. It was alleged that the CBWTF was allowed to set up in contravention of the guidelines for sitting criteria.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zone Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Puneet Jain Vs Madhya Pradesh State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) dated 05/04/2022.

The application was filed in the NGT, challenging the order passed by the Madhya Pradesh State Environment Assessment Authority (MPSEIAA), January 27, 2021 - whereby environmental clearance was accorded for a Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility (CBWTF), Sanwer Road Industrial Area, Indore.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Varun Sheokand Vs Central Pollution Control Board & Others dated 25/03/2022. Grievance in the application is against unscientific disposal of biomedical waste in Faridabad, in violation of Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 (BMW Rules).

Response by Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd in the matter of T. M. Umshanakar Vs Union of India & Othes dated 11/02/2022.

An application was filed alleging violations by Ramky Enviro Engineers in setting up and running of integrated common hazardous waste treatment storage and disposal facility at Karnataka waste management project.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Robert Drawin Vs State of Gujarat dated 24/01/2022.

Grievance in the application is regarding violation of environmental norms at Ghogha Sea Port, Bhavnagar, Gujarat relating to the beaching of a de-commissioned ship Dona Paula-II (IMO no. 8606446) in connivance with local authorities and Gujarat Pollution Control Board officials. The beaching of the ship is damaging the mangroves of that area and releasing harmful substances into the sea and thereby damaging the biodiversity and fisheries of that area.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zone Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Vikram Denwar Vs M/s India Waste Management Pvt. Ltd. & Others dated 10/01/2022.

The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change presented a notification for regulations for the extended producer responsibility (EPR) for waste tyres that will be effective from the new fiscal year. According to the data, India scraps around 275,000 tyres each year but does not have a complete plan.

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) on November 12, 2021 has issued Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Second Amendment Rules, 2021 to further amend the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Trans boundary Movement) Rules, 2016. This shall come into force on November 12, 2021.

The matter related to non compliance of provisions of Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 and the guidelines issued by CPCB with regard to the Common Bio-medical Treatment Facility by M/s Bhopal Incinerators Limited.
