Report of the oversight committee with regard to management of solid waste, bio-medical waste and STP in district Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh made public on Februry 27, 2020.

The committee report made some recommendations which include:

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Amrish Gupta, President, Dushit Paryavaran Hatao Samiti Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 14/02/2020 regarding allegation of illegal activities in disposal of infected bio-medical waste, discharge of untreated hazardous effluents and causing air pollution by M/s Synergy Waste Management Pvt. Ltd., Barabanki, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Report filed by Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) in compliance of the National Green Tribunal order of November 20, 2019 in the matter of Amrita Puri Residential Colony Resident's Welfare Association Vs SMS Water Grace (P) Ltd. & Others dated January 31, 2020. Grievance in the application was causing of air pollution by burning of bio-medical waste by SMS Water Grace Pvt. Ltd. The bio-medical treatment plant was operating at Nilothi near Ranhoula village, Delhi.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of L. R. Tomar, President, Dushit Paryavaran Hatao Samiti Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 04/12/2019 regarding allegation of disposal of infected bio-medical waste, discharge of untreated hazardous effluents and causing air pollution by M/s Medicare Environmental Management Pvt. Ltd. at Phase – I, Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation, Masoori, Gulawati Road, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Compliance of Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 dated 12/09/2019 regarding compliance of Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 and other important issues relating to environment.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of RWA Jain Colony Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi dated 30/08/2019 regarding pollution by illegal industrial activities in North West Delhi and also violation of Biomedical Waste Management Rules, 2016. The Tribunal had expressed its dissatisfaction at the action taken mentioned in the report by the Delhi Pollution Control Board (DPCC) and said in its order of May 4, 2019 that "once serious violations are noticed, the action has to be commensurate to the violation.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Praduman Tiwari Vs Union of India & Others dated 06/08/2019 on whether M/s Ferro Build Hards (I) Pvt. Ltd., Naini, Allahabad, (Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh was complying with the conditions of authorization under the provisions of Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.

Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has issued closure notices to 32 healthcare facilities in the capital for improper disposal of biomedical waste.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs Sheela Hospital & Trauma Centre, Shahjahanpur & Others dated 15/07/2019 regarding non - compliance of the provisions of Bio-medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 (BMW Rules) by the States and UTs.
