India would outpace China in GDP growth within 15 years, Anglo-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto has predicted in its annual report released on Tuesday.

"As China nears the top of the commodity intensity usage curve, India is expected to follow, supporting a further potential wave of strong commodity demand," Rio Tinto chief executive Tom Albanese says in the report.

New Delhi: A parliamentary panel on Thursday criticized railways for tardy implementation of rail projects during the 11th Plan period, highlighting that the department could lay only 513km of new tracks in the first two years of the period against the target of 2,000km.

A 0.6 MTPA wire rod mill set up by Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) will be inaugurated by Union steel minister Virbhadra Singh at Patratu on April 24, making it the first steel plant to come up in Jharkhand in the last six years that has seen 50 other steel majors sign MoUs with the state.
