MADARIPUR: Around 700 families of Shibchar upazila under Madaripur district have been affected by flooding as many villages have been inundated and standing crops have been damaged by floodwater.
The overall flood situation in the northern region remained unchanged while the flashfloods inundated many places afresh in and outside the capital on Monday.
A section of unscrupulous traders are running illegal brickfields polluting environment in all four upazilas of Madaripur district due to lax monitoring by the authorities concerned.
