New Delhi: Sensing that the real spurt in growth in the electric vehicle segment in India is going to come from two-wheelers, utility major Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) plans to focus more on developing and producing electric two-wheelers from its Nashik plant in Maharashtra. The company is looking at cutting down production of three-wheelers.

Domestic car and motorcycle sales rose sharply in May on the back of robust demand and affordable credit.

Maruti Suzuki for the first time crossed the 1-lakh mark in monthly sales. The company sold 1,02,175 units, including exports, during the month led by higher sales of its popular hatchback models such as Alto, Swift, A-Star and WagonR.

New Delhi: The electric car segment received a huge boost on Wednesday with utility major Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) buying out a controlling stake of 55.2% in the electric car maker Reva. The company also promised to make an equity infusion of Rs 45 crore and has renamed the company Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicle Co following the joint venture.
