BHUBANESWAR: The State Government today asked the mining companies in Orissa to tighten security around their areas in view of possible Maoist attacks.

The State Government issued advisories to the companies in order to ensure security in the mining area, Home Secretary AP Padhi told mediapersons after a meeting on mines security here.

The government has threatened to cancel the coal block alloted jointly to ArcelorMittal and GVK Power in Jharkhand for the inordinate delay in developing the property.
