NEW DELHI, Aug 9 – Faced with pleas for maintaining status quo, the Ministry Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) is likely to firm up a strategy on transport subsidy.

Gangtok: The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved projects to the tune of Rs 78.50 crore in the spheres of education, power and water resources in Sikkim. The costs of the projects will be met from the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) fund administered by the Ministry, a DoNER press release said.

The government is all set to launch a scheme to promote youth activities in the upper reaches of northeastern states such as Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.
