The operational guidelines on convergence between NREGA and National Afforestation Project. Details modalities for convergence at the level of management, planning and works. Works identified under this will be executed within parameters of NREGA and the guidelines would be subject to forestry regulations.

Joint convergence guideline: NREGA and programmes of water resources

The recently published guidelines for convergence of water conservation and irrigation works to be taken up under NREGA and the programmes of Ministry of Water Resources. These are meant to optimize synergies between NREGA and MoWR as more than 50% of NREGA projects are related to water management.

Amritsar gets national award for NREGA admn

Amritsar: The Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, K S Pannu has been selected by the Government of India for the Award for Excellence in National Rural Employment Gurantee Act (NREGA) administration. He would be conferred this award on February 2 at the Indian Agriculture Research Institute in New Delhi.

Commr directed to monitor NREGA

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Thursday directed the Divisional Commissioner to monitor the funds released under NREGA so that they reached the eligible beneficiaries.

The directive was issued by a bench comprising Justice Pradeep Kant and Justice Shabihul Hasnain while disposing of a writ petition filed by the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Sitapur.
