About one thousand people of Bokakhat subdivision led by Golaghat district Krisak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has recently submitted a memorandum to the SDO (c) Bokakhat demanding the implementation of NREGA scheme in Bokakhat subdivision immediately as the Government had announced its implementation from the month of April 2008. The Congress has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled States of not properly implementing the Centrally-sponsored welfare schemes in their respective areas.
