BHUBANESWAR: The State Government today asked the mining companies in Orissa to tighten security around their areas in view of possible Maoist attacks.

The State Government issued advisories to the companies in order to ensure security in the mining area, Home Secretary AP Padhi told mediapersons after a meeting on mines security here.

In view of the growing Naxal threat in the state, the Orissa government today advised the companies using explosives for mining purposes to reduce the stock to a level sufficient for only 3-4 days.
