The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on April 9, 2021 has issued Draft Guidance Document & Standard operating procedures for fixation of maximum residue limits (MRLs) of pesticides in food commodities.

In its "The Insecticides (Second Amendment) Draft Rules, 2020" draft order, the Agriculture Ministry points out that these are products that are likely to involve risk to humans and animals and has called for suggestions before a final order is passed.
