SHILLONG: The State Government will create a separate State fund for smooth implementation of NREGS by March-end.

This will be done as per the directive of the Central government.

Chief Secretary WMS Pariat recently held a meeting with some senior government officials for creation of this fund.

Several states have already created such fund as per the directive of the Centre.

SHILLONG: State Planning Board Chairman, Dr Donkupar Roy, has sent a letter to Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma demanding an amendment to the existing Land Transfer Act to be taken up during the next budget session.
