SHILLONG: State Planning Board Chairman, Dr Donkupar Roy, has sent a letter to Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma demanding an amendment to the existing Land Transfer Act to be taken up during the next budget session.
"The local indigenous people are not at all benefiting from the Act as it is not promoting the economic interest of the tribals," Roy said in the letter.
