CHENNAI: Visitors to Kilburn Nagar and its neighbouring colonies are often appalled by the thick clouds of acrid smoke enveloping the area. But for residents enduring the garbage dump it has been a daily ordeal for nearly a decade.
New Delhi: At its new landfill sites, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi plans to generate electricity, cooking gas, organic manure and bricks from the waste generated in the city. To come up at Okhla and Timarpur, the landfill sites will have a waste treatment plant for which the corporation is likely to join hands with the East Delhi Waste Processing Company Private Limited (EDWPCL).
Chandigarh: Ill-maintained parks and green belts as well as dumped construction waste are some of the problems that continue to harass residents in Sector 30. It is evident that the sector is in dire need of being spruced up.
Broken swings in the parks are proving to be a risk for children while plantation in the area too seems to be neglected.
