Factual and action taken report on behalf of the Joint Committee constituted vide the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order, January 28, 2022.

The matter related to health hazards being faced by the residents living near M/S N.U. Vista Ltd., village Durgawati, district Kaimur, Bihar. The unit is discharging its polluted water in the nearby agricultural land; the cement water slurry is released into the agricultural fields making them infertile and ultimately polluting the nearby rivers and also affects aquatic life, the application to the NGT said.

Report on behalf of the committee constituted by the National Green Tribunal vide its order, 08/11/2021 in the matter of Rohit Kumar Vs State of Bihar & Others.

The matter related to illegal sand mining on the bank of Dakhner river near Paraiya (Gaya), Rafiganj Road, Gaya Bihar, which is adversely affecting the environment.

The joint committee inspected sites along the river Morhar near Dakhner, Paraiya, Rafiganj Road, district Gaya, Bihar and carried out inspections at random spots to verify illegal sand mining.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of The State of Bihar & Others Vs Pawan Kumar & Others dated 10/11/2021.

The appeal filed in the SC challenged the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order, October 14, 2020 in O.A. No. 40/2020/EZ with O.A. No. 57/2020/EZ.

The NGT had directed the state of Bihar to undertake further exercise for preparation of a fresh DSR for the Banka district.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Shivdani Paswan Vs State of Bihar & Others dated 22/10/2021.

The NGT October 14 directed a fresh district survey report (DSR) for sand mining in Banka district of Bihar.

An application filed in the NGT said that an interim district survey report (DSR) was prepared for sand mining in Banka district in the year 2018 but that was never finalized.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahanoy River Safety Society Vs State of Bihar & Others dated 31/07/2020. The case pertains to questions relating to allegation of constructions on the banks of river Mahanoy, district Munger, Bihar in violation of the distance criteria and its deleterious effect on the river and the environment. It was also stated that the construction work had converted the river Mahanoy virtually into a cesspool due to discharge of untreated water.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahanoy River Safety Society Vs State of Bihar & Others dated 26/08/2019 regarding construction of an administrative building in Khasra no. 118 falling within the prohibited area of Mahanoy river.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sanjay Kumar Vs Chief Secretary, State of Bihar & Others dated 23/04/2019 regarding illegal mining on Phalgu river in Belagunj and Khizar sarai block, Bihar. The applicant has alleged that due to deep excavation of sand beyond the permissible limit has resulted in causing death of many children.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahanoy River Safety Society Vs State of Bihar & Others dated 11/03/2019 regarding construction on the Mahanoy river, Munger, Bihar. NGT had given the State of Bihar 10 days for submitting Government Notification prescribing the criteria for maintenance of distance for construction from the river bank.
