Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Capt. Mall Singh & Ors. Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 04/08/2017 regarding the municipal solid waste management plant of Bathinda. NGT in its Order said that as a result of non-functioning of the plant, it is the public health and environment at large, which is the victim.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Capt. Mall Singh & Others Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 11/07/2017 regarding collection and disposal of Municipal Solid Waste and other waste in the state of Punjab.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of of Court on its own motion Vs. State of Punjab dated 20/06/2017 regarding functioning of the STP at Amritsar. NGT notes that the bacterial culture and the chlorination processing plant which is said to be now at the slab stage, are yet to be completed apart from some others pointed out by the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Court on its own motion Vs. State of Punjab dated 29/05/2017 regarding delay in Amritsar STP project. The affidavit filed by the Project Proponent as well as the State of Punjab states that that there are certain deficiencies which are still persisting in the functioning of the plant. Secondly, they are not able to take 100% sewage generated, for treatment of it in accordance with law.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Amandeep Aggarwal Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 31/03/2017 regarding indiscriminate cutting of trees in the State of Punjab. NGT directs Chief Conservator of Forest, State of Punjab, representative of the Regional Office of the MoEF, Chandigarh and representative of State of Punjab to conduct a personal inspection and prepare a video, clearly showing land in question where afforestation has been done.

PREVIOUS ORDERS

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Amandeep Aggarwal Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 17/01/2017 regarding construction of super-specialty government hospital in forest area, Patiala, Punjab. The Counsel appearing for the State Punjab submits that the land does not fall in the Forest Area. The Counsel appearing for the Project Proponent also submits that they have planted 473 trees and the same has been verified by the Forest Department.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Sher Singh & Ors. Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 20/10/2016 regarding solid waste management in Punjab.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sampuram Singh Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 18/10/2016 regarding municipal solid waste management of the city of Amritsar, Punjab.

NGT notes that STP which was expected to be operational much earlier (31-05-2016) has taken no effective shape to ensure that the sewerage of the city of Amritsar is treated and there is less pollution and health hazard.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Brig. H.S. Brar Vs. State of Punjab & Ors. dated 09/08/2016 regarding municipal solid waste management in the state of Punjab and groundwater contamination due to disposal of waste. Counsel appearing for the State of Punjab is directed to file a complete and comprehensive report in relation to the clusters, relating to municipal solid waste in the State of Punjab.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Amandeep Aggarwal Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 08/07/2016 regarding cutting of trees in the State of Punjab at various road widening projects and canal banks. NGT directs the counsel appearing for the State of Punjab to state before the Tribunal on when were the trees along Bist Doaba canal planted and by whom and also weather State has issued notification declaring road/ canal side plantation as forest.
