Counsel appearing for the State of Punjab is directed to file a complete and comprehensive report in relation to the clusters, relating to municipal solid waste in the State of Punjab.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Amandeep Aggarwal Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 08/07/2016 regarding cutting of trees in the State of Punjab at various road widening projects and canal banks. NGT directs the counsel appearing for the State of Punjab to state before the Tribunal on when were the trees along Bist Doaba canal planted and by whom and also weather State has issued notification declaring road/ canal side plantation as forest.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Amandeep Aggarwal Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 19/05/2016 regarding indiscriminate cutting of trees in the State of Punjab at various road widening projects and canal banks. NGT restrains the State of Punjab, any Project Proponent, Various Authorities and Departments of State of Punjab from felling and cutting of any tree in the entire State of Punjab without specific permission of the Tribunal.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sampuram Singh & Others Vs. State of Punjab & Others dated 06/05/2016 regarding groundwater pollution in Punjab. The Tribunal in its Order reacted sharply againt the absence of Respondents which included the State of Punjab and noted that "these matters have been called out three times" and issued bailable warrants against Member Secretary, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Member Secretary Haryana Pollution Control Board, Secretary Department of Environment, Govt.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sobha Singh & Ors. vs. State of Punjab & Ors. dated 10/02/2016 regarding pollution of river Satluj by the discharge of untreated domestic sewage, Punjab.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gaurav Jain Vs. State of Punjab & Ors. dated 20/01/2016 regarding municipal solid waste management for the State of Punjab.

State of Punjab would place on record the progress in relation to 8 clusters dealing with the municipal solid waste for the entire state. 

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sobha Singh & Ors. vs. State of Punjab & Ors. dated 13/01/2016 regarding pollution of river Satluj due to untreated domestic sewage, Punjab. 

From the report of analysis filed by the Punjab Pollution Control Board it is very clear that the effluents discharged from the STPs of Sultanpur Lodhi and Basti Peerdaad exceed the prescribed norms for BoD, CoD, TSS and phosphates.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shobha Singh & Ors. V/s State of Punjab & Ors. dated 18/12/2015 regarding pollution of river Satluj.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Baldev Singh & Ors. Vs. State of Punjab & Ors. dated 30/10/2015 regarding ground water contamination in the State of Punjab.

In the State of Punjab ground water is the main source of water supply either for agricultural or even for domestic consumption. If contaminated water is used as a source of irrigation for the crop, Punjab being basically an agricultural state it would enter into the food chain causing again serious environmental and human health hazards.
