NEW DELHI: Water consumers who switch on their motors to fill their overhead tanks and then forget to switch them off will now have more to worry about than just inflated power bills. The Delhi Jal Board has decided to penalise such consumers who waste water by letting their tanks overflow.

As many as 1,224 tanks from 9 districts will be developed at a cost of Rs 306 crore under the second stage of the Watershed Project, announced Minister for Smalla Irrigation Govind Karajol.
