Udhampur: As many as 47 hamlets of Udhampur district are yet to be electrified.

To extend the green cover in and around Udhampur town, the district police , in collaboration with the Forest Department and the Civil Defence Organisation, Udhampur, launched a sapling plantation drive at Government College for Women (GCW) here today.

A diagnostic survey was conducted in rice growing areas across different blocks and districts of Jammu region, viz. Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur, for identification of N, P and K imbalance through DRIS (Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System), taking 121 sets of plant samples data composition and corresponding yields.

Department of Horticulture, Udhampur has organised an awareness camp under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana today.

District Development Commissioner Ajay Khajuria, was the chief guest while JL Sharma presided over the function as Director Horticulture.
