UDHAMPUR, Sep 10: Rs.27.53 lakh Special Central Assistance (SCA) to Scheduled Caste Plan (SCP) for the year 2008-09 was approved at a meeting of District Officers of various departments held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ajay Khajuria, here today.

Out of the total allocation, 70 per cent amount would be utilized for setting up income generating units and the remaining 30 per cent for raising infrastructure, the meeting was apprised.

12000 families registered under NREGA in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Sep 4: Over 12,000 families have been registered in the seven blocks of Udhampur district for ensuring 100 days of guarantee wage employment till August, 2008 under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA).
This was revealed during a meeting of officers of Rural Development Department held to review the physical and financial achievements registered during the current financial year under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ajay Khajuria, here on Thursday.

UDHAMPUR : Sheep Husbandry Department has recorded over 4 lakh kg mutton production in district Udhampur during first quarter of the current fiscal. To provide treatment to sheep and goat population and prevent spread of contagious and non-contagious diseases, the department has dosed over 68,000 sheep population, vaccinated 18,400 and extended dipping facility to over 30,000 besides castrating 3300 sheeps and goats.

UDHAMPUR : A team of National Conference visited far flung areas of Chenani block and took stock of public problems. The team was headed by Lal Chand Mussafir, district vice president. They visited villages Bhatla-Madha, Pachote and Kither of Chenani tehsil and convened party meetings at various places. The residents complained that the villages do not have road connectivity and some schools do not have adequate staff.
