With an eye on early monsoon preparedness, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to impose hefty fines on citizens found throwing garbage in or near drainage systems. The civic administration will put up signboards warning people of penalties if caught throwing garbage that could clog the rainwater drainage systems.
