The state government will promote vegetable and banana farming in a big way to help small and marginal farmers to augment their income.

This was stated by chairman of the Punjab State Farmers Commission GS Kalkat, who was in the city to attend a function. He said after a research, it had come to the fore that high value crops like fruits and vegetables were ideally suited for such farmers.
