Bagepalli CDM biogas programmeme

The purpose of the project activity is to set up 5,500 biogas plants (digesters) of 2m3 capacity each for single households. Each household will utilize the dung of its cows to feed the digester for the production of biogas for cooking purpose and heating of hot water. The aim of the project is to replace the
commonly used inefficient wood fired mud stoves technology, with clean, sustainable and efficient biogas. The project is being carried out in Kolar District. In this semi-arid region wood resources are very scarce, but yet they are the main cooking fuel for the very poor population. As these fuelwood users are very
poor, there is no incentive on anyone
