South Asia forest tenure assessment

This assessment of forest tenure systems in South Asia focuses on current state of tenure and the relationship between tenure security and sustainable forest management and livelihood opportunities.

This assessment report follows the conceptual framework developed by the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) in a publication - From Exclusion to Ownership for the collection and interpretation of tenure data for the selected South Asian countries, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Pakistan. For each country, the country consultants collected data; however, they also used data from RRI and FAO publications to supplement and triangulate their findings.
