The combing operation at Gauriaghat village in Gosainganj ended in vain on Sunday as the forest officials, mounted on elephants, failed to trace the big cat. The tiger had reached Gauriaghat village on Saturday and was believed to have taken shelter in the thickets that cover a large area of land along the Gomti.
