An Act further to amend the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and to amend the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015.

India has opened up the coal sector completely for commercial mining for all local and global firms after easing restrictions on end-use and prior experience in auctions via an ordinance, but the mining minister said the move will not hurt state-monopoly Coal India.

The Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019 was promulgated on March 2, 2019. It amends the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 which provides for the establishment, development and management of Special Economic Zones for the promotion of exports.

Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019 is being implemented in the country since September 1, 2019. This new act has increased fine for many offence to check the road accidents and improve the road safety in the country. Now driving without driving lisence will be fined Rs 5000 instead of Rs 500 earlier.

The Indian Forest (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017 was promulgated on November 23, 2017. It amends the Indian Forest Act, 1927. Under the Act, the definition of tree includes palms, bamboos, stumps, brush-wood and canes. The Ordinance amends this definition to remove the word bamboos.

The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015 was promulgated on April 3, 2015. The Ordinance amends the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
