Minor Forest Produce Federation chairman Vishwas Sarang also participated. Bisen and Sarang offered to donate their one month's salary for the Lake Protection Campaign.

Bhopal, Jan 5: Citizens of the State capital and societies are performing voluntary labour with great enthusiasm for Upper Lake conservation campaign started under the joint aegis of district administration and Municipal Corporation. Under the campaign 315 trips of weeds and mud have been taken out from Upper Lake and dumped at the suitable place.

Bhopal: Badee Jheel, a picturesque water body that draws large number of people and also provides drinking water to nearly half the city, is fast drying up. From a once sprawling spread of 31 sq km, the Upper Lake has shrunk to less than nine sq km. This year the region received little over half its average rainfall, exposing stark patches in the lake that seems to be expanding every day.

The Delawadi camp situated amidst dense forests has been developed as a matchless eco-tourism destination. About Rs 90 lakh has been spent on this camp. Now more tourists are getting attracted towards it. This eco-tourism destination under Obaidullahganj forest division has been developed by Madhya Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board.

It is bad news for the residents of Bhanpur that they are under the grip of death. Hundreds of truck garbage dumped by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) spreading various diseases in the area, compelling them to die slowly.

Bhopal: To ensure that residents of State capital get uninterrupted water supply till July 2009, Municipal Corporation has started the work of bringing water from Kerva Dam to Upper Lake on war footing. Work of connecting pipeline will be completed by Sunday night.

Bhopal Municipal Corporation today started water supply on alternate days as the Upper Lake, the main source of water supply in 40 percent city area, was left with only two feet water adequate to meet the requirement of nearly 60 days.
