Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Citizens Resource & Action Initiative (CRANTI) Vs State of Gujarat & Others dated 27/03/2017 regarding farmers suicides in India. Supreme Court grants Central Government four weeks time to place before the Court the line of action which the Central Government proposes for adoption by the State Governments, for dealing with the serious consequences of farmer suicides.

Narasimha Additional Solicitor General stated before the Apex Court that the Central Government is in the process of formulating a line of action to be adopted by the State Governments, to deal with the issue.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Citizens Resource & Action Initiative (CRANTI) Vs State of Gujarat & Others dated 27/01/2017 regarding farmer suicides in India. Supreme Court directs that the Union of India, besides the Reserve Bank of India, and all the State Governments and Union Territories, need to be added as a party respondents, "so as to enable them to assist this Court, to arrive at an effective determination in the matter" as the case is not only sensitive but concerns public interest at large.

Judgement of the Gujarat High Court in the matter of Citizens Resource & Action Initiative (CRANTI) Vs State of Gujarat dated 10/07/2013 regarding farmer suicides in Gujarat. This Application in the nature of a Public Interest Litigation has been filed for financial compensation of Rs. 5 lac to be paid by Gujarat Government to the family of the deceased farmers who have committed suicide due to crop failure in the State as well as financial aid to farmers at the rate of Rs. 30,000 per hectare be paid to the farmers who have suffered crop failure.
