In a major crackdown, Chambal range police on Wednesday unearthed an illegal underground mining unit at Sindhi river in Datia district.

Police team, led by Inspector general D C Sagar and superintendent of police (SP) R P Singh, seized three boats laden with heavy mining equipment including diesel suction pumps and a large quantity of illegally mined sand from the spot.

The State Government have allocated an amount of Rs. 44 lakh 18 thousand for transportation of drinking water in four districts - Dindori, Dhar. Anuppur and Datia.
Out of the sanctioned amount, a sum of Rs. 21 lakh has been allotted to Dindori district, Rs. 10 lakh to Dhar district, Rs. seven lakh to Anuppur district and Rs. six lakh 18 thousand to Datia district.
