Rajahmundry, May 17: Villagers are likely to face a shortage of drinking water as the existing water levels in summer storage tanks are gradually depleting and irrigation authorities are planning to extend the reopening of the canals beyond 45 days as per the original schedule for taking up maintenance works in both East and West Godavari districts.

Rajahmundry, April 6: Adulteration of fuels, especially petrol and diesel, is rampant at several petrol stations, especially along NH-5 and in rural areas, as vehicle owners complain of their engines getting damaged due to usage of such fuels in East Godavari.

Kakinada, April 4: Over 300 persons in Seelamvaripalem and Sriramapuram of U. Kottapalli mandal and leaders and activists of the Telugu Desam party staged a protest on Sunday against the illegal transportation of sand by some people with the help of Congress leaders at sand reaches which come under the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) in East Godavari.
