Johnson & Johnson has been ordered to pay $4.7bn (£3.6bn) in damages to 22 women who alleged that its talc products caused them to develop ovarian cancer.

Petition filed in the Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis State of Missouri in the matter of Angie Wait & Others Vs Johnson & Johnson dated 23/06/2014 regarding linkage between talcum powder and ovarian cancer. All Plaintiffs in this action are seeking "recovery for damages as a result of developing ovarian cancer, which was directly and proximately caused by such wrongful conduct by Johnson & Johnson, the unreasonably dangerous and defective nature of talcum powder, and the attendant effects of developing ovarian cancer".
