AHMEDABAD: With north Gujarat becoming a separate zone, the state forest department proposes to develop another wetland, this time in Banaskantha district. Nadeshwari near Vav district will be one of the largest freshwater wetlands in the country spread over 1,330 sq km.

AHMEDABAD: The forest department plans to set up an artificial breeding centre for Lesser Flamingos at Nadeshwari. This species was classified as near threatened by International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources in 2006.
