The government today approved Rs 9,657 crore for rehabilitation of people in Jharia and Raniganj coal fields within the leasehold of Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL) and Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL).

Leader of the Opposition Manohar Parrikar today charged that officials are not active in plugging leakages in the revenue while referring to non-payment of VAT by some mineral ore traders.

New Delhi: The government is looking at four mining units under the administrative control of the steel ministry for stake sale but a roadmap is yet to be drawn. The stake sale is essentially being considered with the aim of meeting their funds requirement, a top government official said on Friday.
