New Delhi: In a move to reduce the burden on judiciary as well as address the increasing number of environment-related litigation, the government has proposed to set up a National Green Tribunal along with benches in different regions.

In a significant development, Environment and Forest Minister Jairam Ramesh has confirmed that no changes will be undertaken in Coastal Regulation Notification without first consulting fishing and other communities and assuring that the controversial draft CZM notification, would be allowed to lapse on July 22.
