By setting aside the revocation order of the Environment clearance to the controversial cement plant of Nirma Industries in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, NGT clears the way for this project situated in an environmentally sensitive wetland area. 

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Nirma Ltd. Vs Ministry of Environment & Forests dated 17/11/2014 regarding Nirma's cement plant site in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. The Tribunal in its judgement has taken a strong view to the application and stated that the the present application filed by Nirma is not only "without substance and merit but frivolous and an abuse of the process of law. Thus, we dismiss the application with costs of Rs. 25,000/-, payable to the Environmental Relief Fund constituted under The Public Liability Insurance Act, 1991."
