There is non-compliance with the provision of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation, the Supreme Court observed after going through the affidavit filed by the corporation. The matter related to disposal of legacy waste at Kayalpattinam municipality, Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu.

Technical approval for the solid waste disposal work for bio mining waste for a total measurement of 22436 cubic meter in Papparapalli was given at an estimate of Rs 160.5 lakhs.The approval was issued by the Chief Engineer, Directorate of Municipal Administration, Chennai.

Ramesh Mahendru, President of Alfa Mahendru Foundation had approached the National Green Tribunal by sending a letter complaining that a huge garbage dump has been built on the PAP flyover near bypass, Jalandhar city, which was emitting foul smell.

The NGT, November 1, 2023 directed the Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Himachal Pradesh and the Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council, Hamirpur to inform the tribunal on the next date of hearing on the steps taken to dispose of municipal waste within the Municipal Council, Hamirpur.

A committee was constituted by the District Collector for inspection of the 'Integrated municipal solid waste disposal facility and sanitary landfill' site at Balicha, Udaipur. The MSWD Balicha site was visited on September 1, 2023.

The matter related to legacy waste at forest land in Hamirpur. Municipal Council, Hamirpur said that it is not using forest land for dumping purposes.
