TIRUCHI: A huge volume of banned plastic cups and bags, below the thickness of 20 microns, was seized during a special drive conducted by the Corporation officials over the past two days in the city.

The Corporation has banned the use, sale and manufacture of plastic products below the thickness of 20 microns. The ban applies to plastic bags, cups/tumblers and plastic coated plates.

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore Corporation is of the firm view that the menace of non-biodegradable and non-recyclable plastic bags should be eliminated for its waste management programme to be successful.
