The report dealt with various issues like:

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Saloni Singh & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 12/12/2019 regarding compliance of Plastic and Solid Waste Management Rules, preventing discharge of effluents, management of water at Railway stations, compartments and tracks and removal of encroachments causing environment degradation.

The NGT directed that observations of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) be taken into account in the process of implementation of action plans of the railways for all the major stations.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of State Level Monitoring Committee, Kerala Vs State of Kerala dated 20/11/2019 regarding legacy waste dumped at and around Bharampuram in the outskirts of Kochi City.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Satish Kumar & Others Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 17/10/2019 regarding operation of brick kilns by using softwood, plastic and dung cakes causing air pollution in village Makimpur Gadi, District Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mohammad Yusuf Abdullah Shaikh & Others Vs State of Maharashtra & Others dated 15/10/2019 regarding remedial action against the air pollution on account of melting of plastic in the process of manufacturing gitti (recycled plastic granules) for use of plastic pipes at Malegaon in the State of Maharashtra.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Him Jagriti Uttaranchal Welfare Society Vs Union of India & Others dated 14/10/2019 regarding restriction on use of plastic bottles and multi layered plastic packages used for packaging of carbonated soft drink and liquor as well as other items, in view of the adverse impact on the environment and health.

Summary of the Case: 

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Tribunal on its own motion Vs State of Himachal Pradesh & Others dated 10/10/2019 regarding pollution of river Ashwani Khud in Himachal Pradesh. The river was found to be full of plastic. There was accumulation of solid waste in the drains joining the river. The Tribunal in its previous order had called for regular removal and cleaning and installation of trap nets on major rivulets and drains connected to Ashwani Khud.

The Governor of Himachal Pradesh is pleased to notify a Policy regarding Buy-back of Non-recyclable and Single Use Plastic Waste including plastic bags in the Himachal Pradesh from the Rag pickers and households, providing Minimum Support Price of f75/- (Rupees Seventy five) only per kilogram, for its collection and deposit in the collection cen

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Satish Kumar Vs Union of India & Others dated 05/08/2019 regarding compliance of the judgment by Supreme directing shifting/closing of industrial activities falling under category ‘F’ of the Master Plan of Delhi, 2001.

History of the Case: 

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Joydeep Mukherjee Vs Chief Secretary, Govt. of West Bengal & Others dated 29/07/2019 regarding discharge of municipal solid waste and plastic bags in and around Tarapith area, Rampurhat subdivision of Birbhum district in West Bengal. Report submitted by the District Magistrate and Collector, Birbhum informed the Tribunal that a garbage clearance agency has been appointed for collection of waste material from the periphery of Maa-Tara Temple and both the sides of river Dwarka where hotels, guest houses and shops are situated.
