JAIPUR: The World Bank on Thursday extended its support to the Rajasthan Government with a proposed assistance programme of 490 million US dollars or approximately Rs.2,254 crore for four new State-level projects over the coming two years. The projects pertain to livelihood, water resources, rural roads and agricultural competitiveness.

BHUBANESWAR: In a bid to improve road communication in the State, the Government has projected a demand of Rs 3,000 crore before the Thirteenth Finance
Commission (TFC) for upgradation of rural roads. Besides taking roads to the inaccessible pockets of the State, the funds will also be utilised for improving the existing road network in the rural pockets.
The Lakhimpur district authority has released Rs 31.73 lakh for development of rural roads for Telahi Developmental Block under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) for Assam 2008-09.
