SHILLONG: A Japanese company has proposed what it calls "green coal" project to recycle waste products in the State especially those being dumped at Marten in Mawlai Mawiong.
SHILLONG, Nov 20: The city will witness innovative practice in waste management by heralding a new technology as the process is to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Creative Company Ltd and Eco-Recycle Port of Hiroshima, a Japan-based company that specialises in the treatment of solid waste and conversion into usable fuel, informed Urban Affairs Minister Paul Lyngdoh.
Creative Eco-Recycle Port Ltd, Japan in association with ASSOCHAM has pledged investments to the tune of Rs 100 crore in Meghalaya.
This announcement was made by the president of the company Michihiro Kiyama when a delegation met Meghalaya Chief Minister DD Lapang in New Delhi yesterday.
