SHILLONG: Meghalaya is awaiting medical kits from the Centre to go for a mass vaccination to combat the dreaded meningocal meningitis in four districts of the State.
Shillong: The Shillong Cantonment Board (SCB) and the Syiem of Mylliem will have to answer to state government for contributing to accumulated polluting garbage in Iew Mawlong- Mawlonghat in the heart of Shillong.
An attempt has been made to quantify the relative abundance and size distribution of oily-droplets in the ambient air of Shillong using an optical microscope. The sampling was carried out at controlled, moderate traffic, high traffic, traffic intersections, industrial estates and elevated specific locations in different seasons during 1998-2000.
The Special Accelerated Road Development Programme (SARDP) to improve road connectivity in the northeast region is currently under implementation by the Central government.
