The matter related to riverbed sand mining in Dumka District of the State of Jharkhand, which according to the applicant was against the Sustainable Sand Mining Management Guidelines, 2016 framed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) which allowed riverbed sand mining only during the dry season and not in the rainy season.

A report on the factual aspects and action taken by the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board for compliance of the NGT order of December 5, 2019 in O.A. No. 162/2019 in the matter of Anwar Hussain Ansari, Vice President Jhamumo Vs State of Jharkhand. The matter related to encroachment on the Challiya Nala, Rehla. Inspection by the Circle Officer, Vishrampur has found that the encroachment was done by M/s Grasim Industries Limited, Rehla.

Order of the National Green Tribunl in the matter of Residents of Pichhari Panchayat, District Bokaro Vs State of Jharkhand dated 17/09/2019 encroachment and pollution of Damodar River by Management of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) at District Bokaro, Jharkhand. It was also alleged that illegal mining was taking place and several trees have been cut which has resulted in diversion of the river.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Pradeep Kumar Singh Vs State of Jharkhand dated 02/09/2019 regarding illegally operating stone crushers affecting the ecology and wildlife in villages Choti Bhagiamari, Ambadih, Motijharna and Kalyani in District Sahebganj, Jharkhand.

Damage to the hills of Raj Mahal, District Sahebganj, Jharkhand came up before the bench of Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel, S. P. Wangdi and K. Ramakrishnan of the NGT on July 24, 2019. A report was sought from the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) and the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Sahebganj within a month by the NGT through its order of December 2018. But no report was received even after six months.
