The matter is related to illegal extraction of groundwater through submersible pump for sale in Ghaziabad area of Uttar Pradesh. The area is already in the category of “over exploited area” and thereby not only contaminating groundwater but also creating scarcity in the availability of drinking water to the local residents, the application filed by Khem Chand, an advocate by profession read.

Grievance in the application is against failure to take action to remedy the air pollution caused by fly ash and bagasse generated in the course of operation of Triveni Raninangal Sugar Mill in district Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. The air pollution is adversely affecting the public health and the environment.

The issue for consideration is remedial action against illegal sand mining, in violation of environmental norms, by M/s. R.S.I. Stone World Limited, without requisite Consent from the State PCB, in tehsil Naraini, district Banda, Uttar Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Salman Miya Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 04/02/2022. The matter related to running of illegal acid and chemical factories without license as well as burning of e-waste in the open in the area of village Chivra, PS Dholana, district Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. Complaints were also given to the local police in this regard but no action has been taken so far.

The NGT directed that a Joint Committee would ascertain the factual position in the matter and file its report before the NGT.
