The NGT directed the government of Tamil Nadu to prepare a Comprehensive Action Plan (CAP) on the basis of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) notified by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change (MoEF&CC) to meet the situation.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M/s. V. Krishnamurty Vs Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board & Others dated 21/01/2019 regarding legality of the quarrying activities by K. Manoharan, in District Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. The report submitted by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) states that that no quarrying activities were being carried on. But the counsel for the applicant states that quarrying activity is still going on.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) in the matter of S. Duraisamy Vs Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board & Others dated 07/12/2017 regarding pollution caused by Srivalli Sago Factory, Vazhapadi Taluk, Selam District, Tamil Nadu. The reply filed by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board states that when the unit was inspected on 12.09.2017, it was found that the unit was not in operation but the unit has established the ETP in the premises. NGT disposes of the Application with the direction that the unit will not operate the unit without the required consent.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone Bench, Chennai) in the matter of M.Gobineelan Vs Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board & Others dated 30/10/2017 regarding illegal dumping and burning of garbage in Sirumugai, Coimbatore by Sirumugai Town Panchayat. NGT Southern Bench directs that the Sirumugai Panchayat shall obtain necessary “authorisation” from the appropriate authorities within three months and shall remove all the Solid Waste dumped in the S.F.No.148/2 and 189/2 and shall not dump the solid waste in open space or burn solid waste.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone Bench, Chennai) in the matter of M/s.Narmathaa Textiles Limited Vs Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board & Others dated 24/10/2017 regarding payment of consent fees by Narmathaa Textiles to the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board. NGT directs that consent fee should not include the period during the textile unit was not functioning.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) in the matter of P. Palkunan Vs District Collector, Kanyakumari District & Others dated 12/09/2017 regarding industrial pollution caused by M/s. Devisree Metals in a residential area, Nagercoil Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. Tribunal directs the SPCB to constantly supervise the functioning of the M/s. Devisree Metals regarding dust and noise pollution.
